Logan Martin Lake is a man-made reservoir located in east-central Alabama. The lake was created in 1964 by the construction of the Logan Martin Dam on the Coosa River. The lake covers over 15,000 acres and has more than 275 miles of shoreline. Logan Martin Lake is a popular destination for recreational activities, including boating, fishing, swimming, and camping. The lake is home to a wide variety of fish species, including largemouth bass, spotted bass, crappie, catfish, and striped bass. There are several marinas and boat ramps located around the lake, making it easy for visitors to launch their boats. The lake also has numerous parks, picnic areas, and campgrounds, providing plenty of opportunities for outdoor fun. In addition to its recreational opportunities, Logan Martin Lake serves as a source of hydroelectric power and provides drinking water to many nearby communities. The lake is managed by the Alabama Power Company.
